The Place

Via Verdi, 15.
Manduria, Salento, Apulia.

A star-vaulted palazzo in a quiet lane of Manduria's old town. Golden tufo walls, centuries of silence sealed in stone. Jasmine in the courtyard. The shade of a centenarian carob tree. The sound of nothing.

Ten historic buildings, restored to their original bones across the old town: an albergo diffuso of real rooms you book and stay in. You reserve a suite, settle in for a few nights or a whole season, and live it. You come for the stone and the light. You return for the people at the table.

Every room is real and one of a kind, with centuries of story in its walls. It can be yours for three nights, for a month each year, or forever.

History

What it was, before

Via Verdi 15 is the last surviving wing of an old noble palazzo that once opened onto the central piazza. It began as the stables. Then one of the town's first car workshops. Then a dairy. Then a party headquarters. Now, us. Next door, the little tower was the home of Regina Checca, a Manduria artist. And Marinelli, the last piece not yet turned into homes, is what remains of what was, most likely, the oldest inn in Salento. We don't erase this past. We listen to it.

The town

Each suite was a whole house

People still stop in the lane to tell us their stories. “My grandmother lived here. Will you show me?” And then, seeing the rooms full of life again, a smile, almost a blessing: “How wonderful to see it alive again. In bocca al lupo. I can’t wait to meet your guests.”

And we can’t wait to meet you.

Our founding principle

We begin with the gymnásion.

Twenty-five centuries ago, the Greeks of these southern shores built a single place for three things at once: the body that trains, the mind that is nourished, the community that forms. They called it the gymnásion. 15Dolcevita is born from that idea. Here, under the same sun, you grow stronger, you grow wiser, and you belong, all in one place, among friends. We did not invent it. This land never forgot it.

The body, the mind, and the friends. In one place.

The Experience

Six spaces,
one feeling.

Two people. Partners, friends, sisters, old companions. The fireplace, the bathtub, the private garden. No schedule. No obligation. Just presence.

The Suites

You settle into one of three intimate suites in a restored palazzo. Star vaults above you, original tufo, your own private terrace. And the one everyone dreams of: a bath on the rooftop, the whole old town below you.

The Wellness Atelier

A sanctuary of light carved into the stone. You step in, the silence wraps around you, the warmth settles on your shoulders. Everything that helps you feel your very best is already here, working softly, so all you have to do is let go.

III

The Listening Bar

Inspired by Tokyo's legendary kissa, under star-vaulted tufo and warm wood. You sink into a sound so pure you feel it in your chest. A glass in hand, vinyl turning, conversation or silence, whichever the evening asks for. This is where the community finds each other, and the hours slip away.

The Noble Kitchen

Here you cook, side by side with your new friends, whatever you found that morning at the village market. Or you learn the old recipes from the Salentine grandmothers, the ones never written down.

V

The Open Hamam

A volcanic stone göbek taşı as your bed. Warm pietra leccese underfoot. Rosemary and thyme from the Mediterranean macchia on your skin. Salt from the Salina dei Monaci of Torre Colimena. A private, adults-only ritual you won't forget.

VI

The Liquidroom

Inspired by Berlin's legendary Liquidrom, hidden in a centuries-old wine cellar where Primitivo once aged in darkness. Intimate DJ sessions in half-light, floating in the heated pool as sound travels through the water and stone walls. Sauna raves charged with raw energy. Where wellness meets nightlife and the body surrenders to bass, steam, and pure underground presence.

Morning

Breakfast when you feel like it. Under the carob tree. Stone floors still cool. Espresso in silence. No one is waiting for you. The courtyard wakes on its own time.

Or, jump on a restored wooden boat for a morning swim in crystal waters along the coast.

Afternoon

The piazza is empty. The whole town has slipped into its afternoon siesta. You walk the vicoli alone: golden Salentine stone, cats in the shade, the white light of the South. Back at the suite, a cool bath waits in the shade, far from the southern sun. Nobody else. The Ionian breeze through the open window. The long Salento afternoon stretches on.

Or, champagne at the beach club, dancing barefoot on the sand, the Adriatic sparkling like something from a film you once saw.

Evening

Long tables, shared food, no rush. Vinyl on the turntable. Conversation with someone you met that morning. The stars above the cortile.

Or, dress up, Primitivo spritz in hand, and join the local movida. See and be seen. Laugh too loud. Feel twenty years younger with twice the style.

Night

Your suite, the fireplace, the freestanding bath. Doing nothing in particular with the person you love. The kind of evening you'll remember in ten years.

Or, the Liquidroom. Bass through stone, warm water, half-light. The rooftop under the stars. The kind of night that makes you text your friends the next morning.

What a life is made of

What you've lived.
What's still ahead.

Here the old and the new pull the same way: toward feeling more alive. Everything evolves, everything gets better, and the best of it is still ahead.

01
🏺
Lived, and ripened

Two thousand seven hundred years of perfecting the art of living. Our Salentine star vaults were built to stay cool through the summer, turning the heat into something you long for, and cradling the deepest rest. Primitivo at dusk, light through golden tufo. The quiet wisdom of a place that already knows how to live.

02
Still to come

The same instinct, carried forward. Your sleep gets deeper, your mornings lighter, your days easier, quietly, a little more each time. The science stays behind the stone, so tomorrow feels even better than today.

03
Choice, and discernment

Cool cementine underfoot, a freestanding bath beneath the vault, morning light through an oval porthole. Spaces with the taste to make you pour another glass and say nothing for a while.

04
Friends not yet met

A glass of Primitivo. Strangers at lunch, friends by dinner. Bonds that grow slowly and hold for years, the people you'll keep coming back for. The evening unfolds without a schedule, and the circle widens on its own.

What Happens Behind the Walls

Longevity is not a destination.
It is a practice.

Deep connection. Great food. Clean air. Genuine intimacy. Rest. And, quietly integrated into every detail, the kind of science that changes how you feel, without ever asking you to notice.

Because la dolce vita was always about the second word. Vita. A long one, full to the brim. Happiness, for more years.

Manduria by night

"In my most honest description, I am building an annexe of my own home to host friends. A beautiful place in a real Italian town, where you can walk through a living piazza, find a cool bath waiting in the shade, and spend the afternoon doing nothing in particular with the person you love. That, it turns out, is quite hard to find."

The Founders

Raised in Salento.
Shaped by the world.

Twenty-eight years between Asia and the world. Then the simplest and hardest choice of all: to come home. Not out of nostalgia, but to build something that lasts. A real town brought back to life, a piazza that fills again, a community that keeps its appointment, year after year.

Along this road we have had our masters. One above all: Temur Ugulava, founder of Adjara Group and of Stamba in Tbilisi, who taught a whole generation a simple truth: a forgotten building is not torn down, it is listened to. His legacy walks with us.
